Job Title: Water Polo Coach (Memorial Day through August 7)
Location: The Belle Haven Club, Greenwich, Connecticut
Job Description
The Water Polo Coach is responsible for supporting and leading Belle Haven Club’s Water Polo program during the summer season. This position works closely with the other Water Polo Coach, Aquatics Director, and aquatics staff to ensure organized, safe, and engaging practices and games for all participants.
Specific Responsibilities:
Coach and supervise water polo practices and games from after Memorial Day through August 9.
Communicate and collaborate consistently with the other Water Polo Coach and Swim Coaches to plan practices, game logistics, and player development.
Set up the pool area before practices and games (goals, balls, deck organization) and ensure proper clean-up and storage afterward.
Create, organize, and confirm rosters for all water polo games and events.
Assist in planning and contributing to weekly water polo communications and emails to families, in coordination with the Aquatics Director.
Communicate regularly with and report to the Aquatics Director regarding attendance, rosters, scheduling, and any issues that arise.
Work collaboratively with the rest of the aquatics staff to support overall pool operations and a positive team environment.
Help ensure a safe, fun, respectful, and engaging atmosphere for all athletes.
Assist with game-day organization, including coordinating with referees, players, and families as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous water polo playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
Prior FCSL Water Polo experience preferred (FCSL Swim experience a plus).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with other coaches and staff.
Responsible, organized, and proactive on deck and during games.
Current CPR/Lifeguard/First Aid Certifications
Availability for practices and games throughout the summer season (post–Memorial Day through August 9).
